Seminar on the Immortal Exploits of Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il

On the occasion of the 11th anniversary of the demise of the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il, Serbian Committee for honoring the memory of Comrade Kim Jong Il organized a Seminar on his Immortal Exploits on December 10.

Mr. Viktor Jancovic, Chairman of the Serbian committee for honoring the memory of Comrade Kim Jong Il and Chairman of the Serbian National Committee on the Study of the Juche Idea addresses as follows:

“December 17 is the sad day of the demise of the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il.

When the day comes round every year, many people of the world honor Comrade Kim Jong Il with deep emotion.

Kim Jong Il devoted his whole life for the cause of global peace.

He led the struggle to build a new world free from aggression and war upholding the banner of anti-imperialist independence.

In the closing period of the last century when many socialist countries collapsed, he wrote many works including The Historical Lesson in Building Socialism and the General Line of Our Party (January 1992), Abuses of Socialism Are Intolerable (March 1993) and Socialism Is a Science (November 1994), scientifically proving the truthfulness, validity and inevitability of the socialist cause and dealing resolute blows to those who were trying to block the cause of global independence.

At the time even the so-called big countries were trying to avoid outrageous high-handedness and arbitrariness of the imperialists, but    Kim Jong Il dealt decisive blows to them and defended independence and socialism of his country.

Whenever the situation of the Korean peninsula, one of the hot spots in the world, was brought to the brink of war, he confronted the threat of aggression and high-handedness of the hostile forces with a harder-line approach, disheartening the enemies and honorably defending the sovereignty and dignity of his country.

In the 1990s when the situation was teetering on the brink of war, the DPRK gave a fatal blow to the hostile forces by issuing a bombshell declaration of withdrawal from the NPT, making a breach in the old international order based on the superiority of strength, and ushering in a new age for the cause of global independence and peace.

Kim Jong Il was a peerlessly great man, whom everyone got fascinated with.

He actively engaged in external activities for the development of the international relations and for the unity among states and nations; in his lifetime he met many heads of state and party and even many of the countries hostile to the DPRK, including former US President Clinton, Secretary of State Albright, and Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi. 

Those who met him even once all got attracted to his intelligent and scientific view and great personality, irrespective of their nationalities, religious beliefs, ideas and political views.

He strengthened and developed the bond of friendship with many countries of the world under the ideals of independence, friendship and peace.

His several rounds of visit to China and Russia and the fruits of his devoted efforts like the DPRK-Russia Moscow Declaration exerted great influence to the development of international relations and political situation of the world. Thanks to the devoted efforts, the cause of global peace advanced vigorously along the road of independence.

Kim Jong Il defended the blue sky over the planet and the mankind on the strength of Songun.

He challenged the old political structure of the world, characterized by domination, subjugation, aggression and high-handedness, with his unique Songun politics, firmly defending peace and security of the Korean peninsula, Northeast Asia and the rest of the world. As many politicians and political figures recognized, his most outstanding exploit was that he prevented the outbreak of a thermonuclear war and saved billions of people from the crisis of nuclear catastrophe.

It is a logical conclusion that the start of a war on the Korean peninsula, a gate and bridgehead to the Asian Continent and one of the hottest spots in the world, would lead immediately to the start of another world war, bringing damage to the whole world. However, a third world war or thermonuclear war did not break out. 

Then, who prevented this war and brought peace to the world?

To this historical question, Vishwanath, a former political figure of India, answered: It was none other than Chairman Kim Jong Il, a world-famous military commander, who prevented the war and ensured global peace for over half a century by turning his country into one with matchless military strength.

If, and only if, a war had broken out on the Korean peninsula, no one could have imagined the three major transformations–the highest level of material prosperity, technological advance and spiritual civilization–achieved by many countries for more than half a century under the blue sky.

This exploit achieved by Kim Jong Il indeed made mankind advance one or two centuries forward.

The exploits of Chairman Kim Jong Il will shine forever in memory of many people of the world.”
