On the Occasion of the 81st Founding Anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea Journey of Devotion for the People October 10, 2026 marks the 81st founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea. The WPK, during its longest rule in the history of socialism, has applied the people first principle, valuing the people and devoting everything for their wellbeing. President Kim Il Sung, founder of the Party, regarding “The people are my God” as his motto, built the Party into a mass-based party and ensured that all its activities were oriented to meeting the demands and interests of the masses of the people.
