Commemorative Seminar on the occasion of the 80th Founding Anniversary of the WPK
On the
occasions of the 80th founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of
Korea, the Serbian Preparatory Committee for Celebrating 80th founding
Anniversary of the WPK organized a commemorative seminar on October 5th, 2025.
Mr. Viktor
Janković, Chairman of the Serbian Preparatory Committee for Celebrating 80th
founding Anniversary of the WPK and Chairman of the Serbian National Committee
on the Study of the Juche Idea addressed as follows:
“The
Workers’ Party of Korea has recorded the longest ruling history in the world
since it was founded on October 10, 1945. Over the past eight decades in power
it has led the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and its people to victory,
bringing about world-startling events and great achievements.
The WPK,
founded and developed by President Kim
Il Sung (1912-1994), founder of socialist Korea, earned its international
recognition as an ever-victorious and iron-willed party for decades under the
leadership of Chairman Kim Jong Il (1942-2011).
In its
80-year history, the WPK miraculously led the hard-fought war (1950-1953)
forced by foreign forces to victory and went on to steer the country
successfully through postwar rehabilitation, socialist revolution, socialist
construction and other stages of society building, thus turning the DPRK into a
country independent in politics, self-sufficient in the economy and
self-reliant in national defence. Today it is attaining more remarkable
successes one after another in its efforts for the comprehensive development of
socialism.
Once a
prominent Indian figure commented that the secret of the victory of the WPK
lies first in the scientific accuracy and truthfulness of the Juche idea, its
guiding ideology, second in the steel-like unity and cohesion of the entire
Party, third in the people’s absolute support for and trust in it, and fourth
in its control over the army and vigorous advancement of the overall socialist
construction with the army as the main force.
In
reality, the WPK has adhered to the Juche idea, an ideology of independence, as
its only guiding ideology ever since its founding, and overcome all sorts of
trials and difficulties by dint of that idea. By achieving strong unity and
cohesion across the Party to the admiration of the world people, it has raised
its profile as the strongest party in terms of sense of organization,
discipline, unity and fighting efficiency. As it regards the people as its god
and enforces sincere and steadfast people-oriented policies, it has won their
absolute support and trust. And by giving top priority to military buildup it
has defended socialism and advanced socialist construction.”
A
participant spoke as follows;
“Today
the Workers’ Party of Korea has greeted a new era of building the ruling Party
under the wise leadership of its General Secretary Kim Jong Un, enjoying a high international reputation as a party
with growing vitality.
It is
not so long after he took the helm of the WPK, but the Party has not only made
significant progress in its development but launched a gigantic struggle for
achieving comprehensive development and prosperity of the state, consecutively
bringing about eye-opening events unprecedented in the history of the country.
To know
about the secret of this, it is necessary to take note of the commemorative
lecture given by Kim Jong Un when he
visited the Central Cadres Training School of the WPK, the highest institute of
training Party cadres, in October 2022.
In his
lecture titled On the Orientation of the Building of Our Party in the New Era
and the Tasks of the Central Cadres Training School of the Workers’ Party of
Korea, he said: The last ten years of struggle for the strengthening of the
Party was the most crucial and decisive decade for the existence and future of
our Party. The remarkable progress and development in the past decade is by no
means a result of the times. The successes achieved by the Party in its
building and work over the past decade are three major ones: firstly, it has
firmly defended and inherited the monolithic ideology and leadership; secondly,
it has remarkably enhanced its leadership function and role; and thirdly, it
has further strengthened its revolutionary character of serving the people.
What is
more noteworthy is that he clarified the Party building orientation in the new
era, a line characterized by political, organizational and ideological
construction and discipline and work style building, which will help the Party
carry forward its leadership history of nearly 80 years to 100 years or more.
This marked a milestone in making the WPK lead the development of the country,
full of vigour and vitality as a leading political organization in the Korean
society.
Today
according to this new five-point Party building orientation the WPK is
developing into a party with more powerful capability and bright future, while
stepping up the drive for comprehensive development of socialism through the
construction of 50 000 flats in the capital city of Pyongyang and rural houses
in different parts of the country and the implementation of the Regional
Development 20×10 Policy among others.
The WPK
with the longest ruling history of socialism will continue to demonstrate its
dignity and might as an ever-victorious party.”
Following
the meeting, all participants watched the Koran documentary film.
